Information about abstinence from alcohol:
For a trip, also by bike, under alcohol with more than 1.59 per mille in road traffic, the road traffic authority will impose an MPU on you. You will get your driver's license back with a positive report.
However, this does not mean that you generally have to show abstinence from alcohol for a positive MPU.
We recommend an objective consultation in which your situation is discussed. Make sure that you are advised and informed fairly and without reservations, if necessary get a second opinion.
For the abstinence from alcohol at the MPU, a certain number of 6 urine tests in 12 months are required for a defined period (12 months) to prove alcohol abstinence.
The test person is unexpectedly summoned to an unknown date, and then has to appear within 24 hours, prove his identity and hand in the urine sample under visual control. If all urine controls have been tested negative for EtG, abstinence from alcohol is considered to be given for the entire period.
As an alternative, 4 hair analyzes are available over a period of 12 months. Your hair must have a length of approx. 4 cm. With each hair analysis, 3 months of abstinence are demonstrated.
If the year of abstinence is successfully completed, you will receive a certificate from our traffic doctor for submission to authorities and MPU offices.
Anyone who has noticed two or more times with alcohol values of more than 0.51 per thousand in road traffic within 10 years will also have to submit an MPU report so that they can obtain the driver's license.
You have to know that it is still possible to pass an MPU without abstinence checks, i.e. with the conventional liver values.
